Q. How do I make a Room Reservation?
A. Click on this link http://www.dcbachata.com/hotel   to book your room online at or call Renaissance Downtown DC at 202-898-9000. Don’t forget to mention you are coming to the DC Bachata Congress event or DCBX! NOTE: If the online system gives an error, chances are that the room you are requesting is sold out. In this case, please call the hotel for best room availability.


Q. What is the difference between Single and Doubles offered by the Hotel?
A. Single and Doubles refer to the number of beds in the Room. A Single Room means one bed. A Double refers to a room with two Queen size beds. Call the Hotel for other options and an accurate description of the rooms.


Q. How much is a hotel room?
A. Our group has a special rate of $149 plus tax for single bedrooms and double bedrooms. You must either book through the online system or call and mention DC Bachata or DCBX.

    Q. What type of music will be played in each ballroom?
A. Seven Ballrooms throughout the hotel have music and themes. Dedicated Ballrooms will have the best DJs in many genres including Latin/Dance music such as Bachata, Authentic Bachata, Salsa, Kizomba, Zouk, Reggae, Brazilian, and a 24Hour mixed-genre Ballroom!


    Q. How many ballrooms are included?
A. DCBC offers 7 ballrooms to choose from. For more detailed information on Ballrooms in different genres. A good way to find out whats playing in each ballroom is to search our Scheduling page under the tab on the right side by clicking on “Ballroom Music” or using the search feature to search a feature of music.


    Q. Where are the ballrooms located?
A. DCBC has music and dancing in SEVEN (7) Ballrooms throughout the Hotel in many genres. All of the ballroom are located on the Lower Ballroom Level of the Hotel. Main Ballroom is where our Main Stage is located with VIP Seat Passholders will have their seats close to the Main Stage, with room for dancing, and roped off. All other passholders will have general seating and standing room beyond the roped off and secured space.


    Q. How do I access the VIP Seating area?
A. Security will allow VIP wristband holders to sit in the designated VIP seats.


    Q. Where will workshops be held?
A. Workshops will be held in various rooms throughout the ballroom level of the hotel. Check with Registration for the most accurate map of all rooms and scheduling. Signage will be Provided. Be sure to look for the DCBC posters, logo and signage.  Educational workshops will happen on the BoardRoom level, while Dance workshops will happen on the Ballroom level.

    Q. Where and how much is parking at the hotel?
A. There are three options for parking. Street parking is available on a first-come first-serve basis around the perimeter of the hotel. Parking is offered by the hotel with in and out privileges at the rate of $35 a night. Second option is PMI Parking located directly in front of the Hotel  however, with no in and out privileges. The hotel has limited parking and Parking fills up quickly! The third option is to take a Lyft! To avoid the parking fiasco, catch a lift by using our LYFT code DCBACHATA to save $20 off your first ride for new riders! Q. When do workshops start?
A. Workshops with our world class instructors start at 5pm on Thursday! For a detailed workshop schedule.

    Q. What types of Workshops do you offer?
A. We offer a variety of workshop classes from dance instruction in Salsa, Bachata, Samba, Kizomba and more; as well as, workshops in education in many aspects such as finance, well-being, business development etc. For a full workshop schedule, visit Workshop Schedule or General Schedule.

    Q. Can workshops be purchased individually?
A. No. The smallest amount of workshops one can buy is a Day Pass, in any day of their choosing, and the day pass includes admission into the night parties in all seven (7) ballrooms! Night passes for entrance into the night parties and ballrooms can be purchased at the door.


    Q. When will registration for Workshops be open?
A. It will be open at 3pm on Thursday! Registration is open one hour before workshops begin on each day. All workshops are secured by security- appropriate wristband is necessary.


    Q. Will there be any shoe vendors?
A. YES. We have the great shoe vendors including our Official Runway and Shoe Sponsor, GFrance Dance Shoes.  Salsa Sexy & Jose Bota Shoes.  Don’t forget to download our app DCBACHATA and pick up a coupon page for exclusive deals for vendors! We will have ~4 shoe vendors this year, as well as, shirts, leggings, hair and makeup Products by our Official Beauty Sponsor Nume, and, our transportation sponsorship, Megabus.com.

Q. Are there any dining options at the Hotel?
A. Yes, there are over 100+ restaurants just blocks around the Hotel. Make sure to check out our partnering restaurants and mention you are with the DC Bachata Congress to get special deals!

Q. What does the VIP Seating Pass include?
A. ONLY A FEW SEATS LEFT! This pass includes a VIP Seating section close to the Main Stage in the Main Ballroom, where performances happen.


Q. What does the Full Pass include?
A. Full Pass includes access to all Workshops during the day and admission into the night party with the exception to the Master Classes (one on Friday, one Saturday, and one Sunday) and performance challenges which will train students to perform on Sunday night with their Teachers!

Q. What are the age restrictions at the event?
A. This is a private event. All ages all welcome. ID will be checked for consumption of alcohol.


    Q. Is there a children’s pass that I can buy for this event?
A. This is a mature event. Children are welcome to the event. Adult supervision of children under 18 is strongly suggested;  Children, teens & College students can buy passes for $75.  This is over 75% off the retail price.

Q. What type of entertainment is available?
A. Main Stage performances include LIVE Latin Band, Salsa Dancers, Bachata Dancers, Kizomba dancers, Variety Acts and Midnight Samba Dancers!


    Q. What time will performances be?
A. Performances times are as follows.  Friday, Saturday & Sunday doors open at 7:30pm & the shows start at 8:30pm sharp.  There is also a matinee show Saturday.  Doors open up at 3pm & the show is 4pm-6pm.


    Q. Where will entertainment be?
A. All concerts will be on the main stage on the lowest level of the Hotel. Other performances acts can be found in concourse terrace mini-stage and the vendor mini-stage as well.

Q. Where do we check-in for admittance into the event? What can I expect?
A. Look out for our signage all over the hotel to lead you to registration. Expect a wait in lines from 8-10am, and from 1pm-4pm! Check in shall begin at 5pm on Thursday.


    Q. What do I need to bring to check-in?
A. Please bring your ticket to the event for admittance to the event and government issued VALID photo ID.


    Q. What is the attire for the event?
A. Workshops should be in comfy work-out like clothing. Night parties are dress to impress and dress themes are optional but encouraged!  Make sure to wear sweaters or a jacket when coming into the shows as our ballroom is chilled early to maintain a comfortable temperature throughout the night when 6000 attendees walk through the space!


    Q. Where do I check-in for Workshops?
A. Be sure to look for signs leading to the Registration area beginning at 4pm on Thursday. Workshops will be held in secured ballrooms.


    Q. When does the event end?
A. DCBC is four days of workshops, parties, a 24 hour ballroom, and parties that last until 8am with the hottest DJ’s, performers, LIVE music, entertainment and best views of the city! It officially and technically ends on Monday at 8am after a glorious Sunday packed with dancing until the wee hours of the morning!
